Malaysia and India to promote tourism industry

TAMIL Nesan in its editorial welcomed the Malaysian-Indian agreement to intensify joint efforts to mutually promote the tourism industry.

Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, currently visiting India, said her meeting with Indian Tourism Minister Kumari Selja had been fruitful.

Both countries explored the mutual avenues for promoting tourism products and investment opportunities in the hospitality sector.

She added that last year, about 22 million foreign tourists had visited Malaysia, including about 500,000 from India.

An additional 100,00 visitors from India are expected to visit Malaysia by the end of this year.
