KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A six-year-old girl was almost crushed by a concrete wall that fell from the 16th floor of an apartment in Taman Medan Jaya near Jalan Klang Lama here.

The incident occurred at about 4pm yesterday when Nurin Fadhlina Junaidi and her mother Dalila Madnam, 36, were returning to their second floor unit in Block D after buying flowers at a nearby shop.

"Her mother saw the wall collapsing and shouted at her to stop walking," Nurin Fadhlina's father Junaidi Musa, 35, said.

"Seconds later, the wall came crashing down close to her."

He said his daughter was hit in the left arm by some of the debris but was otherwise fine.

"She is still in shock and is barely talking but I'm sure she will be her usual bubbly self soon," he said, adding that he was thankful nothing happened to his only child, especially with Hari Raya just around the corner.

He said he was considering suing the developer.

A fire department spokesman said they received a distress call at 5.46pm. He said they would investigate how the wall had dislodged from the 16th floor and would meet the developer to get more information.
