JOHOR BARU, MALAYSIA - Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) has denied reports that its chief executive officer Harun Johari has resigned.

In a statement issued late last night, the authority said that Harun was still its CEO.

The denial came following a report in an online news portal which said that Harun had resigned just months after his appointment.

He is the second CEO of the authority since it was set up in November 2006. Its first was Datuk Ikmal Hijaz.

According to the report, Harun was said to have tendered his resignation on Thursday.

Harun was also seen at the Iskandar Johor Open golf tournament in his capacity as Irda CEO here yesterday.

Harun also denied the report, saying he was fully committed to ensuring that the authority would achieve its targets.
