Drunk Viet killed after trying to cut friend's leg

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: A Vietnamese was stabbed to death after he tried to chop off his friend's leg in a drunken stupor.

Nong Viet Dan, who had been drinking heavily, returned to his home in Taman Prima, Selayang at about 2am yesterday and entered his friend's room. He then tried cutting his sleeping friend's leg with a kitchen knife.

The friend woke up and a scuffle ensued during which Nong was stabbed in the chest. He was rushed to the Selayang Hospital but was pronounced dead at around 9am yesterday.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rahim Abdullah confirmed the incident and said police had arrested the friend.
