JOHOR BARU, MALAYSIA - Singapore authorities have handed over four Malaysians who were apprehended for trespassing into the island republic's waters to the country's marine police.

Marine Police Region 2 Chief Asst Comm Mohd Khamsani Abd Rahman said the drop-off was made at 1.4 nautical miles from Pulau Nenas near Pasir Gudang at 3.15pm yesterday.

He said the four, aged between 14 and 19 from Tanjung Surat, Kota Tinggi, were detained by Singapore authorities for trespassing into its waters to fish for sea snails.

The four were later sent back home, he added.
