A man threatened his wife and their three children for allegedly using back magic and putting a hex on his mistress.

The 41-year-old woman was threatened by her husband of 23 years and his mistress after they accused her of being responsible for making the mistress "ill".

According to MCA Public Service and Complaints Department head Datuk Michael Chong, the accusations started when the mistress consulted a fake medium who informed her that her lover's wife had put a hex on her.

Believing the medium's claim, the woman and her lover, a 47-year-old businessman, threatened the victim and asked her to remove the hex despite her repeated denials.

Chong said the husband justified his lover's accusation by claiming that he had consulted two other mediums who had also told him the same thing.

"However when I asked him to bring me to the mediums, he was unable to do so," he said.

Fearing for her life and the safety of her children, the victim, who still lives in the same house as the husband, lodged a police report in Sentul on Sunday before seeking Chong's help.
