RELA personnel were forced to take over security and traffic control in Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Baru, Kelantan, when its security guards went on strike for two days, reported Kosmo!

The 105 security guards went on strike to protest the delay in the payment of their salaries by their employer.

According to one of the guards, their monthly wages are supposed to be paid by the 13th of every month.

He said this was the second time their employer had delayed their salary, the first time was in November.

Hospital director Dr Ghazali Md Hassan said it had terminated the services of the security firm following the incident and would be engaging a new one soon.

"For the time being, security and traffic control within the hospital compound are being managed by both the police and Rela personnel," he said.
