Baiting people to buy sex toys

KUANTAN - For the past week, a 49-year-old man had been frequenting several resorts at Cherating beach here.

Carrying a black satchel filled with boxes of fish bait , he would approach holiday-makers on the pretext of selling the bait to them

But once he got the attention of a customer, he would try to push a packet of stimulant pills instead.

One beach-goer was persuaded to buy the pills.

But he lodged a police report and on Wednesday police caught the man.

Police confiscated his bag which had, besides 16 boxes of stimulant pills, sex toys such as a crystal studded condom and a dildo.

Pahang Criminal Investigation Department deputy chief Superintendent Mohd Haris Daud said the man was a foreigner with a valid travel documents. who claimed he was a photographer.

Yesterday, the suspect, Zhang Guabu, was slapped with a RM3,000 (S$1284) fine or three months' jail in default at the magistrate's court here after he pleaded guilty to possessing the illegal sex gadgets.

In mitigation, Zhang told magistrate Nordiana Abd Aziz that his monthly income in China was only RM500 (S$214) and he needed the money to support his family.
