MALAPPURAM (India) - AN ASSOCIATION for tall men, started as a gathering of those with exceptional height, has now become an active charitable movement giving financial aid to the needy.
'Tall men of the world unite, you may lend a helping hand to the poor and needy without making tall claims', runs the motto of a fellowship of six-foot-plus men, launched in south Indian state of Kerala, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
The Tall Men Association, a gathering of people with comparatively exceptional height, has already enlisted about 1500 members and under its units in various parts of the state.
Though it kicked off as a just a simple gathering 'some time back', it has morphed into an active charitable movement, a spokesperson for the association said.
'We don't want to make any tall claims. But our members strive to help the poor and needy in the society,' he said.
An 'executive-force' of 300 selected volunteers of the association is engaged in various charity-related activities. -- THE STAR/ANN
