KOTA BARU: Galas assemblyman Che Hashim Sulaima, who has colon cancer, has been readmitted to the Kampung Baru Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur. His condition is said to be serious.

Che Hashim, 48, a PAS assemblyman, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2009 and went to China last year to undergo chemotherapy treatment.

The one-term assemblyman was also involved in a road accident days after the last general election and was warded at the Raja Perempuan Zainab Hospital II here for cuts and bruises after his vehicle skidded into a ravine along the winding road in Gua Musang.

Several party leaders and community leaders including family members have visited him since his readmission last week.

Kelantan PAS strategist Datuk Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah confirmed that his condition was serious but said he hoped his colleague would make a speedy recovery.

Che Hashim has been in and out of a few hospitals was diagnosed with cancer.

It remains to be seen if he can attend a special Kelantan legislative assembly sitting, which is scheduled for Thursday.

The state government decided to convene a special assembly sitting to determine the allowance-for-life to be received by former Sultan of Kelantan Tuanku Ismail Petra Almarhum Sultan Yahya Petra.
