Former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi advised Singapore not to make hurtful statements against its neighbours to ensure continued close bilateral relations.

He told Malaysian media that Singapore should respect Malaysia's sensitivities when making statements and create a win-win situation with its neighbour

He said Singapore should instead focus on strengthening Malaysia-Singapore relations instead of making statements that can jeopardise that relations.
