Politician wants blog to remove doctored nude pictures

CYBERJAYA, Malaysia - Disgusted by doctored photos of a nude woman bearing her face in a weblog, Beliawanis MCA chief Tee Hooi Ling is demanding the removal of the lewd images.

Tee presented her complaint to the Malaysian Communications And Multimedia Commission (MCMC) here yesterday, where she was flanked by a small entourage of supporters from Wanita MCA and her husband Freddie Leong.

Tee had lodged a police report over the lewd images at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on Tuesday.

The April 5 posting also allegedly implied that Tee had used her sexuality to lobby herself as a candidate for the general election.

"The commission tells me that it does not have the authority to shut down the weblog as it is hosted by an international domain.

"They will, however, advise the owner of the blog to remove the offensive pictures," Tee said.

She added that several other Barisan Nasional leaders were also not spared from the mischievous antics of the blog writers.

Similar distasteful images of other Beliawanis members were published on the Internet last year by a blogger who superimposed photos of the attractive young women attending the MCA annual general meeting on pornographic images.
