PETALING JAYA - PKR leader Azmin Ali has hit out at those he claimed were out to embarrass him and his family with allegations of sexual misconduct.
Denying the allegations, the PKR deputy president claimed that he had been a victim of such attacks over the last 14 years.
He claimed that the latest incident showing a person resembling him in a bathroom with a woman was aimed at diverting attention from the demands of Bersih 3.0 for a free and fair election.
"They keep repeating this to embarrass me and break my spirit. But this will not deter my determination to push for reform," he said in an interview yesterday.
He was referring to several photographs which have gone viral on the Internet showing a man resembling him in a compromising position with a woman in a bathroom.
Azmin claimed that the same modus operandi was used to attack Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"I regret the continuous series of slanderous attacks against me, my wife and children," he said.
He also said two DNA tests had proven that he and wife Shamsidar Taharin were the biological parents of their daughter.
"But my critics continue to slander my family. They even claimed that I was involved in (fraudulent) shares ownership and that I had insulted Malay Rulers.
"As all such allegations have been thrown out, they use the old sexual misconduct script to embarrass me and break my spirit," he said.
