1. Provision of Information
Information about the potential risks associated with gambling and where to get help are displayed in all gambling areas, near ATMs within operators' premises.

Gambling-related helpline numbers are displayed prominently at locations where customers place bets.

And meaningful and accurate information on the odds of winning major prizes is displayed.

2. Interaction with Customers and Community
To ensure responsible gambling training to all frontline and management staff who are responsible for the gambling operations.

To adopt an NCPG protocol to refer problem gamblers to gambling-related help services.

3. Advertising and Promotions
To comply with the gambling advertising regulations in Singapore, as stipulated in the relevant legislation or licensing conditions.

Gambling advertisements should not be presented in a promotional way, offer any form of gambling tips, imply that a player's skill can influence the outcome of a gambling activity, give the impression that gambling is an accepted way to make money, include misleading statements about odds, prizes; and finally, be directed at young persons below 18 years.

4. Exclusion Provisions
To provide self-exclusion option for customers, offer them information on gambling related help-services and not to send any material to customers who have been excluded.

5. Reporting of Key Indicators
To provide annual reports to the NCPG on staff training, number of people referred to help services and number of applications for self-exclusion.

Implementation
To implement the Code, a manual will be produced to show implementation guidelines, more specific to the products and services. It will also illustrate best practices that operators could adopt.

The NCPG will also work with the Community Addictions Management Programme to design the staff training programme. Such as how to identify a problem gambler, what are the signs and how to help.

Early adoption
Apart from Singapore Pools and the Singapore Turf Club, twelve other social clubs and public sector recreation clubs operating jackpot machines have all agreed to adopt the Code.
