Parents can avoid the hassle of going down to their children's Primary schools for this year's Secondary One posting exercise.
The Ministry of Education announced today the introduction of an online system for submitting choices of Secondary schools for those entering Secondary One next year. The results of the posting exercise will also be available online. Alternatively, results can be checked on the telephone through an interactive voice response system, which will be launched at the end of this year as well.
Currently, parents have to make a trip to their child's primary school to submit their school options after the release of the PSLE results, and another trip to collect the posting results when they are released. Parents can, however, continue to do so if they do not wish to use the online system.
Each Primary Six student will be issued a unique Secondary One Personal Identification Number, or S1 PIN, later this year together with the PSLE results. The S1 PIN is required for submitting school choices online.
The online system, called the S1-Internet System, will be accessible round the clock starting from 11am on Nov 22 until 3pm on Nov 28.
