SINGAPORE, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Singapore Telecommunications said on Friday that it will sell its 49.99 percent stake in Network i2i Ltd to Bharti Airtel Ltd for a total of US$66.7 million.

The payment will comprise US$55 million in cash and assumption of US$11.7 million in debt by Bharti.

SingTel's gain on disposal will amount to approximately S$104 million, of which about S$72 million will be recognised in the fiscal second quarter ending September 30, 2007.

The balance of S$32 million will be recognised on a straight-line basis over 10 years.

SingTel's wholly-owned unit, SingTel i2i, will also sell its 49 percent interest in Bharti Aquanet Ltd for about S$6.0 million, which will result in a gain of about S$1.2 million.
