Homegrown cinema gets another boost with two new films being made.

Roy Lim and Michael Wang are both first-time writers who are helming their feature debuts.

Lim's $1-million movie, Untold Beauty, is about a supernatural romance.

The other movie - Carrot Cake Conversations - is an independently financed drama about four strangers who bare their souls to one another.
