Thu, Dec 27, 2007
The Straits Times

ELIGIBLE households will receive the second installment of their Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates in January 2008.

The rebates are part of the $4 billion GST offset package announced early this year to help low and middle-income households with their utility bills.

The rebates received amount to between $50 and $110, depending on the flat type.

For example, one to three-roomers will receive the highest amount, at $110.

4-room flats will receive $105.

5-room flats $70 and Executive flats $50.

The 2008 rebates will cost the Government $138 million.

SP Services will notify all eligible households of their U-Save rebates in their January 2008 bill.

The first U-Save rebates were disbursed in July this year.

A total of $550 million worth of U-save rebates will be handed over five years from 2007 to 2012, benefitting over 760,000 HDB households.
