>SINGAPORE has offered to host a meeting of Asean Foreign Ministers to discuss how the regional grouping can help Myanmar in its relief and recovery efforts.

Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo conveyed this offer by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to his Myanmar Foreign Minister U Nyan Win on Friday, said an MFA statement.

Singapore, which chairs the Asean Senior Officials Meeting (SOM), convened an informal session on Friday to discuss how Asean could support the Myanmar government in the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis, which has claimed over 100,000 lives.
