A YOUTH was placed on 15 months' supervised probation on Tuesday for using threatening words on a teacher.

Longiness Roy Neo Long Long, 17, had earlier pleaded guilty to threatening Mr Chin Jun Feng, 24, by saying: 'You will not live more than two days. I will get people to kill you and attend funeral'.

He said this during a class at his school in Jurong West last Aug 17.

A Community Court heard that Mr Chin was invigilating the class when Neo made a lot of noise. When asked to leave, Neo uttered the words in Mandarin before leaving the classroom.

The teacher felt alarmed and made a police report. Under the order, Neo will have to observe curfew between 9pm and 6am and do 60 hours of community service.

His father, who is divorced and now has another family, signed a $4,000 bond to ensure his good behaviour.
