Boom for part-time maid business

BUSINESS is booming for part-time maid companies and agencies, with some finding it hard to cope with the growing demand.

Young working professionals and newlyweds who want more privacy and flexibility, but do not want to spend time doing household chores are turning to part-time maids to clean their homes and iron their clothes.

This has boosted business for companies and agencies supplying part-time maids by 10 to 70 per cent in the last two years, according to a Straits Times check.
