The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has agreed to manage a cash reward of $1 million offered by two private individuals for information that may lead to the arrest of Mas Selamat bin Kastari inside or outside Singapore.
They have approached MHA for assistance to manage their combined cash reward.
As reported in the media in March this year, some private companies and a non-government organisation had separately offered specific sums of monies for information on Mas Selamat bin Kastari.
While security agencies, including the Singapore Police Force and Central Narcotics Bureau, do not itself offer cash rewards or bounties for information on fugitives and unsolved crimes, private corporations or individuals can do so if they are acting on their own to assist the Police.
Members of the public with information on Mas Selamat bin Kastari can call the present Counter Terrorism Centre hotline at 1800-262 6473 or the Police at 999.
The MHA has stressed that all information received will be kept confidential and will be verified and investigated.
