MAS launches 2008 Heritage Orchids of Singapore coin set
>In tribute to Singapore's national flower, MAS has launched the 2008 Heritage Orchids of Singapore coin set.
The set consists of two coins. The coins feature the yellow Oncidium Goldiana, better known as the 'Golden Shower' or 'Dancing Lady', and the Aranda Tay Swee Eng, a purple hybrid which is a local favourite for cut flowers.
The coins will be sold by the Singapore Mint from Tuesday, October 28.
The 2-in-1 $5 Silver Proof coin set has a mintage of 8000 sets. Each set includes two certificates of authenticity with the same serial numbers. Another set features the two silver coins, and two ez-link cards featuring the two orchid species. The coin and card set is limited to 1000 sets. The two ez-link cards with the orchid species are also sold as a limited edition set. The ez-link card set is limited to 3000 sets.
