>The Ministry of Home Affairs and its departments held its annual Appreciation Lunch for its partners and volunteers today. DPM and Minister for Home Affairs Mr Wong Kan Seng gave awards to 49 members of the MHA or departmental Boards, Councils and Committees for their years of service.

The awards for the longest serving volunteers go to:

Mr Chung Kah Gay, current Chairman of the Criminal Law Advisory Board, who has served for 35 years;

Mr Chim Hou Yan, current Chairman of the Criminal Law Advisory Committee (Hearing), who has served 30 years; and

Mr Woo Tchi Chu, current member of the Criminal Law Advisory Committee (Review), who has also served 30 years.

In his message to the volunteers, DPM Wong thanked them for their time and contribution to the Home Team. He said that many of them have contributed their expertise for decades. They truly reflect active citizenship even before the term became commonly used.
