Bukit Batok victim was a graduate and an "Uncle Killer"

The woman whose highly decomposed body was found in the Bukit Batok Nature Park earlier this month was a well known "Uncle Killer" among the residents of her estate, and a graduate too.

Miss Choo Xue Ying, 47, was often seen striking up conversations with elderly men in her neighbourhood, in hopes of inking a property deal, local Chinese paper Shin Min Daily News reported. She became a property agent only two years ago.

It is understood too that Miss Choo used to have a boyfriend. They were said to have dated for about 10 years before breaking up three years ago.

A resident, who lived in the same Sims Drive estate as Miss Choo's family before the latter moved to Upper Boon Keng Road, told Lian He Wan Bao that Miss Choo's two younger sisters were also graduates, but were married and have moved out of the family home.

A resident also told the Shin Min reporter that Miss Choo had lived in the three-room flat with her family for more than 30 years before moving. Shin Min also learned from neighbours that Miss Choo has five siblings, and that three of them have married and live else where. Miss Choo used to live with her 70-year-old mother, an unemployed 50-year-old brother and a younger brother who works as a technician.

According to Miss Choo's elder brother, she was a filial daughter who would call home to ask about their mother's condition despite having moved out to live on her own.

"Even though we never interfered with each other's lives after the move, she will still call home from time to time to ask about our mother's health."

But family relations were frosty, as Miss Choo was eventually chased out of the family home, said her 82-year-old flatmate, Mr Tan. Arguments had also broken out in the middle of the night, with the police being called in to mediate on three occasions.
