>The Attorney-General has applied to the court for contempt proceedings to be instituted against Gopalan Nair.

His contempt of court  arises from having stated that the courts were being abused for political ends in four different occasions.

Two of those were during his trial before District Judge Leong Kui Yiu James in the Subordinate Courts on various dates between 24 July 2008 and 5 September 2008, while the other two can be found in 2 blog posts in his blog 'Singapore Dissident' at http://singaporedissident.blogspot.com/.
