AN INDIAN national who stole his wife's ATM card and withdrew a total of $1,200 was jailed for five months on Monday.

Sukhbeer Singh, 26, pleaded guilty to three charges of stealing $1,100 from Madam Baljeet Kaur Darshan Singh, 46, at POSB automated teller machines in Jurong on Sept 18 and 20 this year.

A district court heard that he memorised his wife's personal identification number when he had earlier seen her withdrawing money from the ATM.
