SINGAPORE consumer confidence for the next six months has dropped to below market's historical level, in line with regional sentiments.

The latest Consumer Confidence survey by MasterCard Worldwide shows that the index score for Singapore has fallen to 62.3 from 87.3, even though this is still considered 'optimstic'.

Singapore is the 4th most optimistic market in the region, while sentiments of most other consumers have dropped to 'pessimistic' level, said MasterCard on Wednesday.
