NUS partners 5 polys in R&D

UNIVERSITIES and polytechnics are going to work together in a big way to try to get research faster onto the marketplace.

The first large scale university-polytechnic collaboration was inked on Friday among the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the five polytechnics here.

The aim is to marry the strengths of the two types of tertiary institutions - universities for their emphasis on basic research and polytechnics for their focus on industry-related work.
