FOOD safety authorities here have released the last batch of China dairy products for sale, with the exception of six products which have been newly found tainted with melamine.

With Thursday's clearance of China-made biscuits, crackers, liquid milk, ice-cream, milk and whey proteins, the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) has effectively ended a two-month long ban on the sale of such products.

It has been progressively lifting this ban in the past two weeks, and has recently allowed products like butter, ghee, bread and cakes imported from China to be sold here again.
