Blogger challenge: Team Singapore's Wilfrid Wong

Brand's, well known for its chicken essence health supplement, held a Blogger Challenge at Geek Terminal on Wednesday.

Two teams of bloggers from Singapore and Malaysia consumed 14 bottles of chicken essence on a daily basis over the past two weeks.

They then battled it out to see who would emerge as the champion of the mental performance challenge.

AsiaOne spoke to the leader of "Team Singapore", Wilfrid Wong, a blogger in his mid-30's, who is an avid writer and member of alternative rock band "No Eye Candy".

Here is what he has to say about drinking 14 bottles of chicken essence and being involved in the Brand's Blogger Challenge:

Q: Why did you accept the Blogger Challenge?

A: I'm a friend of Eastcoastlife (ECL Tan) and she referred me to this challenge, so since she needed a teammate, I
wouldn't reject her request. I also think that this is a really fun event to meet other bloggers since blogging is really
a passion that has no geographical boundaries.

Q: How was your experience with drinking 14 bottles of chicken essence in two weeks?

A: I actually like drinking it! I like the taste. I've been drinking it since young and especially during exam times, my
mother would feed me with the "green fuel", so it gradually became a habit of mine.

Q: Do you think that chicken essence has helped boost your mental performance and alertness?

A: Yes, I do. In fact, I was lagging behind my Spanish lessons. Since I started taking chicken essence, I swear I did
pretty well after that. I felt more alert and less lethargic. I also think that it keeps me healthy.

Q: How did you find the Challenge?

A: Fun and mentally stimulating, but quite stressful at times. We struggled at the mental arithmetic questions but it's
all in good fun.

Q: Overall sentiments?

A: "I thought that there would be some tension since it was a 'regional' competition but I think it's been very fun and
I've made some new friends as well."
