I REFER to the report, 'No beating Causeway jam on foot' (my paper, Jan 5).
The article had mentioned that: 'The ruling, which was implemented by Malaysia since the new Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex opened, has now been adopted by the authorities in the island republic.' This line is factually incorrect.
We would like to highlight that the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) is unaware of this new ruling.
At ICA's end, there has been no change in our position of allowing travellers who have cleared immigration to leave the checkpoint on foot.
