A TOTAL of 23,917 Singaporeans have checked their names in the registers of electors, which have been opened for inspection since March 3.
This is almost half the 41,412 inspections made in the first-week period in January 2006 when registers were also opened for checking.
The number of claims - made by those who consider themselves to be qualified voters but who could not find their names in the registers - also dipped from 124 in 2006 to 17 this year.
