Wed, May 27, 2009
The Straits Times

A PART-TIME delivery rider was on his way to deliver pizzas when he was killed in a road traffic accident last December.

At a coroner's inquiry into the death of Mr Lee Jit Loong, 25, on Dec 14, the court heard that the second-year Singapore Polytechnic student was making a right turn into Sin Ming Avenue from Upper Thomson Road when an SMRT bus collided into him.

Investigation showed that bus driver Lai Chai Kew, 62, who was named a potential defendant, was travelling along the extreme left of Upper Thomson Road towards Thomson Road when it hit Mr Lee's motorbike at the cross-junction with Sin Ming Avenue.
