SAF promotes 208 warrant officers

THE Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) is promoting 208 warrant officers this year.

They received their certificates of promotion from Minister of State for Defence Koo Tsai Kee and Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Desmond Kuek at a ceremony held at The Chevrons this evening.

Among these officers, six Master Warrant Officers attained the rank of Senior Warrant Officer, the highest rank in the Warrant Officers Corps.

Three Operationally Ready NSmen were also promoted to the rank of First Warrant Officer.

Warrant Officers play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and operational readiness of SAF units.They also possess the technical skills, knowledge and experience necessary for maintaining a credible and professional 3rd Generation SAF.

All promotions will take effect on July 1, 2009.
