More than S$700,000 raised for President's Challenge 2009

A total of 144 avid golfers from the private sector have come together to do their part for charity at the Centurion-Sentosa Golf Club President's Challenge Charity Golf Tournament.

The event, jointly organised by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and the Civil Service Club, will be held on 8 July and is one of the key fundraisers for President's Challenge 2009.

The tournament has raised a total of $717,500 which will be channeled to the 37 beneficiaries of President’s Challenge 2009, including Action for Aids, Beyond Social Services and the Singapore Children's Society.

Centurion Group, which are the title sponsors for the second consecutive year, donated $200,000 to the cause.

This year has also seen an increase in the total number of corporate and individual sponsors, from 25 to 30.

The other major corporate sponsors are Lian Beng Group Ltd, Super Coffeemix Manufacturing Ltd, UOB Kay Hian Pte Ltd, Wynn Macau, Centraland Ltd, China Hongxing Sports Ltd, and Synear Food Holdings Ltd.
