Save energy drive expands

THE drive to help households save energy has been expanded and will go deep into the heartlands, Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan said on Thursday.

The Energy Save programme, initially launched in December to great success, has now been scaled up across all HDB estates over a five year period.

'There are many good reasons for doing so,' said Mr Mah. 'Being more efficient with energy keeps Singapore competitive and less dependent on the import of fuel for power generation. At a personal level, residents can reduce their energy bills and save money.'
