Arts Fest gets new chief

by Adeline Chia, Arts Reporter

THE man credited with turning the visual arts extravaganza Singapore Biennale into a popular success has been appointed the new head of the Singapore Arts Festival.

Mr Low Kee Hong, 39, takes over from the previous festival director, Ms Goh Ching Lee, 48, who announced two weeks ago that she was leaving the National Arts Council (NAC) after 18 years.

In a statement on Monday, NAC chief Benson Puah said that Mr Low, the general manager of the Singapore Biennale, was appointed because 'as a practitioner, researcher and administrator, Kee Hong has a panoramic view of the arts scene'.
