Suntec S'pore official convention centre for YOG

Suntec Singapore is the official Convention Centre Partner for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

It will be the venue for the most number of sports competitions, namely boxing, fencing, handball, judo, taekwondo and wrestling.

In addition, an Olympic Gallery, interactive exhibits on healthy living, and demonstrations of selected YOG sports will be held at Suntec Singapore. These exhibitions will be open to the public.

"With Suntec Singapore' expertise in holding many iconic events, from high-level government meetings to business conferences, we are confident that Singapore will be able to deliver a memorable Games and reinforce Singapore as a choice location for hosting international multi-sporting events," said Mr GOH Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee.

To date, Suntec Singapore's 100,000 square metres convention facility has hosted close to 15,000 events and will be the main meeting venue for APEC 2009 Leaders' Week, welcoming various high-level officials and ministers from the 21 Member Economies.
