A FORMER relationship manager who used numerous forged bank reference letters as genuine was fined a total of $41,000 on Tuesday.

Ho Nyat Yeing, 53, then with the American Express Bank (AEB), had earlier admitted to 11 of 79 charges of fraudulently using as genuine letters on letterheads of various banks purportedly showing that the clients had accounts with private banks. The offences took place in 2005 and 2006.

She was among three people hauled to court last year for such offences. One has since been fined $30,000 on three charges while Ho's former colleague, Ho Siok Go, 52, will be sentenced next month.
