VIETNAM'S President Nguyen Minh Triet will begin his state visit in Singapore on Monday and Tuesday at the invitation of President S R Nathan.

This underscores the strong bilateral relations between Singapore and Vietnam, and serves to reaffirm the close bilateral ties, said a statement from the Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Triet will be accompanied by his spouse, Madam Tran Thi Kim Chi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Pham Gia Khiem, Chairman of President's Office HE Nguyen Van Chien, Minister of Industry and Trade HE Vu Huy Hoang, Minister of Finance HE Vu Van Ninh, as well as senior officials.
