By Judith Tan

TO HELP the National Research Foundation (NRF) take stock of its four Research Centres of Excellence (RCEs), an International Review Panel (IRP) will be set up.

It would provide independent feedback on the performance of the RCE, its director and team at regular intervals, said NRF chairman Tony Tan at the Cancer Science Institute's 1st anniversary conference Monday morning.

Dr Tan said the panel will boost the work of the Academic Research Council (ARC), which appraises the performance of each RCE on behalf of the Education Ministry (MOE) and NRF.
