Fund to help 8,000 seniors

FIVE local companies and the North East CDC have step forward to set up a fund to help seniors improve their self worth.

The $300,000 fund - with $150,000 coming from Yan Hui Capital Pte Ltd, Koufu Pte Ltd, Cenosis Pte Ltd, Apex-Pal Intl Ltd and Teo Heng Trading Pte Ltd, and matched dollar-for-dollar by North East CDC - will be set aside for programmes for 8,000 seniors in the North East district over the next three years.

On the initiative to set up the fund, the CDC said in a statement on Wednesday: 'Many Singaporeans get so caught up with work that most often family life takes a backseat.
