Fined for shoplifting, bribery

A SHOPLIFTER made matters worse for herself by trying to bribe store security officers to let her off.

For stealing about $37 of food items, De Livera Shanela Ruwanthi, 21, was fined $1,000 on Monday.

The Sri Lankan, who is studying interior design at the Lasalle College of Arts, also pleaded guilty to the corruption chrage for which she was fined $5,000.
