A FORMER relationship manager of Malayan Banking Berhad was jailed for eight months on Monday for misappropriating $20,000 belonging to a customer.

Nicholas Yeo Cheng Joo, 31, admitted to pocketing Tio Ah Chu's payment for an investment product on Feb 5 last year.

The court heard that instead of placing the money into the crude oil structured deposit for the customer, he kept the money and used it to pay for his personal expenses such as car modifications, credit card debts and investments in warrants.
