New US Ambassador to S'pore

WASHINGTON - MR DAVID Adelman has been confirmed by the US Senate as the next United States Ambassador to Singapore.

The 45-year-old lawyer and state senator from south-eastern Georgia was officially nominated by President Barack Obama in November. He sailed through his nomination hearing in February, and had been awaiting a final greenlight from the Senate.

He and his wife, Caroline, have a son and two daughters aged between 14 and eight.
