Pet peeve 1: Attacked by dog while on a walk

SHE had taken the two jack russell terriers for their daily evening walk at the open field behind her brother's semi-detached house.

Little did she expect that she and one of the dogs would be attacked by one of four bigger dogs.

The attack left civil servant Jocelyn Pang with scratches and bruises on her right hip. Her pet, Happy, had puncture wounds on its back.

The incident happened in about five minutes at about 6.30pm on Sunday. She was in a field surrounded by a forested area near Tung Po Avenue, off Yio Chu Kang Road.

Ms Pang, 40, said she was walking her pet, Happy and Ally, her brother's jack russell when she saw four large dogs sitting at the edge of the forested area. A woman was with them.

She said that the dogs belonged to a neighbour and that the woman was the dog owner's maid. The canines were not leashed although the woman had some leashes with her, she added.

As there had previously been an incident between the dogs in March, Ms Pang said her first reaction was to get the jack russells back into the house.

But as she scooped up her pets, one of the bigger dogs attacked, she claimed.

One seized Happy from behind. As she tried to shield it, the bigger dog bit her on her hip. The other dogs surrounded her, growling.
