Man goes too far in punishing his wife and sons

A SINGAPOREAN man forced his wife and two sons to run around their block of flats 40 times from 1pm to 4pm as he claimed the boys had sneaked out of their unit without his knowledge and that his wife had stolen from their neighbour, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.

The mother and the boys, aged nine and 10, were later told to kneel and prostrate in front of the flats and ordered to stay outdoors for seven hours.

The boys had to carry their school bags when running while their father monitored their movement from the third floor hallway. He also shouted at them asking them to run faster or face more punishment.

Residents were seen giving the three drinks, tissue paper and candy but no one stopped them from running for fear of the man.

When the police arrived at the scene and questioned the woman, she told them that she was willing to be punished.

After the police left the scene, the man continued to force them to run and later gave them a packet of rice to eat at the hallway before allowing them into the house.
