"My kids love to come here and play, now where else can we go?" asked one Singaporean woman, while another added: "They should just keep it the way it is now."
These are what residents and beach-goers at the popular Marine Cove at East Coast Park had to say when RazorTV spoke to them about the upcoming redevelopment plans.
The 32 tenants of Marine Cove were told by their current master tenant Rock Productions to move out by March 16, but were later given a six-month extension on their lease.
Rock Productions is the business arm of New Creation Church.
The new landlord, National Parks Board, has yet to disclose their redevelopment plans but said they want to "free up park space for the public, as well as enhance access to the beach".
And for it to do that, some buildings may be torn down.
While some expressed sadness at the thought of Marine Cove moving out, there are those who seem indifferent to its disappearance.
With new changes taking place, what do Singaporeans hope to see in its place in the future?
