A granite slab estimated to be the size of half a mahjong table fell from the 25th floor of Centennial Tower, along Temasek Avenue, yesterday.
According to a Straits Times report, two women were injured slightly by debris when the slab, which was part of the building facade fell. They were taken to the Singapore General Hospital and discharged after being treated for their injuries.
Pontiac Land Group, who owns the building, said the incident occurred between 8:45pm and 9pm. It has cordoned off the area and investigations are ongoing.
The building was last checked in July last year. It was certified safe by French firm Dragages, which designed and installed the facade in 1997, and its appointed building consultant Meinhardt.
